The Ram is the eight animal in the cycle of twelve and corresponds to the Earthly Branch Wei. The Ram is matched to the six month of the year and its favourable hours are between 1 and 3 p.m. Wei represents the silence before action begins. The Ram controls the time of harvest, when the yang is at its strongest and is ready for its move to yin.
